It's not Rocket Science
Not only that, but I sent emails letting everyone know when I would be available and asked for a chassis load out of Gaffney to get me back up to Gary and deliver tomorrow. That would allow me to get a coil on Friday, stop at the house for a 34 hour reset, and be in Laredo Monday night.
Which brings me to another bitch. Owner Operators don't need driver managers. That is the whole point of being an owner operator. YOU manage everything. If you don't do it correctly, than that is your own damn fault and your profit/loss statement will reflect that.
So, here I sit in Charlotte waiting on someone to pull their head out there ass, and just burning up valuable time.
I can almost see what is gonna happen. I will sit here a couple hours and than get a plan to go to Gaffney anyway. Why would that still piss me off? Well, glad you asked. I am 50 miles from Gaffney right now which means I could be down there, load secured, and gone in the time it takes them to figure out what to do. It's a dedicated account and we ALWAYS have loads coming out of there.
This is the part of the job that is more frustrating than Austin traffic. What we need is one more middle man in the mix to fuck things up even more.

Jan Brewer for President
For those needing some background info before reading my rant, here ya go: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/25/AR2010042502314.html
This country is going to hell right before our eyes. Why is there a big ass debate now and huge protests over making it a crime to be here illegally?
The protestors are saying it is a civil rights issue and racial profiling. I say BULLSHIT. I highly doubt the police are just going to pull someone over to check to see if they are here legally. That would take to much time and waste valuable hrs for other things. But you can bet your sweet ass if your Hispanic looking and get pulled over, that will be a question.
I am all for immigration, AS LONG AS IT IS DONE LEGALLY
I just don’t get why we have to cater to every damn person or group because they may get their feelings hurt or not like it. Here’s an idea; If you don’t like the law, take your happy ass back to Mexico or wherever you came from.
There was similar controversy when Sheriff Arpaio made his prisoners live in tents out in the desert. They are prisoners, they don’t deserve the same rights as everyone else. Just like illegal immigrants don’t.
But, you watch… the current administration will now come up with some federal law that will make Arizona change theirs or they will get reduced government funding for something. That is BULLSHIT as well.
As a person who has personally put his life on the line for this country, is married to a beautiful woman who does, has a brother who served in the Corps (Semper Fi Big Bro!!!), and has many friends that have and still do serve, the debates and crying about this law piss me off.
I guarantee that illegal immigrants get more assistance and help than our disabled/homeless vets and there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with that. If you don’t think there is, than you just need to go jump off the highest bridge possible.

Obama got something right (Must Read for Military Members)
He started by asking why I was claiming Illinois as my residence while Angie was claiming Texas.
After I gave him the skinny he said that I qualified for a new law that Obama signed into law that took effect for the 09 tax season.
http://www.military.com/finance/taxes/tt/military-spouse-residency-relief-act-and-state-taxes.html?ESRC=finance.nl
As you can see just by the link, it is a military spouse residency relief act. What that means, for those that don't know, is that since I am a military spouse now I can claim what Angie claims. Which is Texas and has no state tax.
See, before the spouse would always have to become a resident of whatever state they lived in. But, as long as you are active duty you can maintain a state no matter where you live.
Ok, so what does it mean for me?
Well, apparently when I became my own business I said I would like to be taxed out the ass please. See, ever since I was separated from the military and became an Illinois resident, I got a refund. Not anymore!
Had Robert not told me about that new law I would have had to pay the state of Illinois close to $900. Keep in mind I was a company driver for 10 months in 2009 and Swift was taking state and federal taxes out. Even with my Q4 tax payment I sent them I still owed.
However, due to this new law and the ability for me to claim Texas, I will now be receiving a $99 refund from the state and will NOT have to send them anymore quarterly tax payments!!! Woot Woot!
